text of obituary:
RAYMOND TIMOTHY ESAU
Raymond Timothy Esau was born July 13, 1956, in Vancouver, the son of Henry and Betty Esau. His childhood was one of joy and happiness, especially after the age of five when he asked Jesus to become his Saviour. Raymond's faith continued to grow and due to the joy in his heart and his ready smile, his life proved a blessing to many. His creativity and wide range of interests left many precious memories for his family and loved ones.
Raymond loved to sing and just before leaving on the weekend trip on which he died, he prepared a song sheet from which his father and brother and he sang the songs he had chosen, mostly pertaining to heaven. His sudden passing was apparently caused by carbon monoxide poisoning. He died October 11 in the Quesnel Hospital. The family is grateful to the Lord for thirteen years of precious memories of Raymond, and above all that he was a radiant testimony of the grace of God in his life.
Raymond leaves to mourn his parting, his parents, his brother Reginald, his sister Eunice, his maternal grandparents, the Paul G. Poetkers of Clearbrook, his paternal grandparents, the Jacob J. Esaus of Abbotsford, and his great-grandparents, the Jacob Esaus, Sr. of Clearbrook, B.C.
The funeral was held at the Kennedy Heights Mennonite Brethren Church, North Surrey, B.C. The family expresses their gratitude for the many friends who shared their loss with them and for the contributions which will enable the placing of 200 Gideon Bibles.
