Helen Epp

Helena Epp of Winnipeg passed away Dec. 26. She was born Feb. 18, 1904 to Abram and Anna Dyck in Kronsberg, southern Russia. At 7, she accepted Christ; at 13 she was baptized in the Petrovka River and joined the MB church. In 1926 the family immigrated to Newton, Man. In 1928 she married Henry N. Epp. They lived in Brandon, Man. and Newton. They settled near Wingham, Man., where they farmed until Henry died in 1959. She lived in Oakville, Man. for 16 years and then retired to Winnipeg. She is remembered as a woman of strength and dignity. Her main interests were church, her children, her grandchildren and flowers. She loved God's Word and had great faith and an exemplary prayer life. She is mourned by her children Anne Friesen, Rita Klassen, Helen Friesen, Mitzie Quapp, Henry and Abe. The funeral was Dec. 30 in Newton Community Fellowship Church, with Art Willms and D.A. Dyck ministering.
