Two Nurses Killed In Colorado Crash
Marion, S. D. — Two nurses, cousins and both natives of this community, were killed in a highway crash near Walsh, Colo. on Sept. 7.
Funeral services for Wilma Margaret Epp, 47, were held Sept. 11 at the Bethel Mennonite Church here, with Rev. August Ewert officiating. Services for Luverna Becker, 56, were conducted the following day at the Marion E.M.B. Church with Eldin Classen, Jack Adrian and Frank Wiens officiating.
For the past 20 years Miss Epp had lived in Denver, Colo. where she was employed as a surgical nurse at Denver General Hospital. She was a member of the Corona Presbyterian Church in Denver. Survivors include her mother and step-father, two brothers and two sisters.
Miss Becker, daughter of the late Jonas and Nettie Becker, served as a missionary in Nigeria under the Sudan Interior Mission from 1945 to 1971. For the past year she had worked as a nurse in Walsh, but hoped to go to the Sudan field under the S.I.M. Her survivors include one sister, Mrs. Albert (Leona) Adrian of Great Bend, Kan.
