PETER EPP

Peter Epp of Vauxhall, Alta., was born on February 9, 1914, the third of Peter and Anna Epp's 12 children. He passed away on July 8 following a lengthy illness.

The Epp family emigrated to Canada in 1929, and during the first winter in Borden, Sask., he attended special services where he realized his need for Christ. The following spring the family settled in Coaldale, Alta., where he was baptized and attended Bible school. He did postwar work with MCC in Europe, where he met his wife, Ankie van Gorkum, in Holland. They were married on March 2, 1948.

The couple returned to Coaldale, leaving two years later to farm in Vauxhall, Alta. Together they raised a family of seven children. His character was marked by openness and honesty, and he willingly served the church in many capacities.

He leaves to remember his wife, Ankie Epp; four sons, Ronald and his wife Gloria, Laurence and his wife Peggy, Edward and his wife Marge, Vergil and his wife Joy; three daughters, Evelyn, Carol and Loretta; five grandchildren; his parents, Peter and Anna Epp; four brothers and two sisters.
