Text of obituary:

MARY ANN LOGANBILL EPP

Mary Ann Loganbill, daughter of J. P. and Anna Moser Loganbill, was born Oct. 31, 1897 at Fortuna, Mo. The span of her earthly life was 67 years, three months and 19 days. She was translated to life eternal Feb. 19, 1965.

Surviving her are two sons, Dr. Wilferd [sic] J. Epp, his wife Donnie and their children, Michael, Mark and Martha of Lincoln, Neb., and Marvin G. Epp, his wife Nancy and two sons, Marshal and Merrit of Red Cloud, Neb.; one brother, Oscar Loganbill of Newton, Kan.; two sisters, Mrs. Rudolph Enns of Newton, Kan. and Mrs. Arnold Funk of Halstead, Kan.; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Homer Loganbill of Fortuna and Mrs. Jessie Loganbill; and a number of nephews and nieces. Prededing her in death besides her husband and parents were three brothers and one sister.

She received her schooling in the schools near her home at Fortuna, Mo. and in Bethel College, Newton, Kan., where she graduated from the Academy. She spent two years teaching a country school near Halstead, Kan.

She was baptized by Rev. J. M. Regier on April 10, 1914 and received as member of the Bethel Church of Fortuna. On Aug. 25, 1925 she was married to J. D. Epp of Henderson, Neb. To this union were born two sons, Milferd and Marvin. In 1946 they gave expression to their happy union by celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary.

The vocation of her husband changed her residency several times. She had her home at Inman and Newton, Kan., at Lincoln, Neb., and last at Henderson, Neb. She transferred her church membership on April 9, 1944 from the Bethel Church of Fortuna, Mo. to the Bethesda Church of Henderson.

Mary Ann was of a jovial nature. She always had a way of turning a depressing situation into an optimistic mood. She was supported in this by her Christian faith. She was interested in church and mission work and was a faithful member of Mission Circle I. In her later years she enjoyed working in the Nursing Home and succeeded in bringing cheer and hope to many a downcast, lonely resident.

The service that she loved was shortened by a malady that proved to be fatal. Realizing the seriousness of her ailment, she submitted quietly to the inevitable and resigned to be translated from the physical body into the spiritual body.
