Mrs. Peter Epp

Maria Thiessen Epp was born in Sparrau Molotschna, South Russia, June 29, 1846. Here her youth was spent with her parents till march 21, 1876, when she was united in marriage with Abraham Kroeker.

This marriage was blessed with ten children, eight sons and two daughters of which five sons and one daughter have passed before her.

In 1874 they immigrated to America and settled in Reno County, Kan., near Buhler. In 1892 they moved to McPherson County where they lived till father's death in 1899. She remained a widow till 1904 when she was united in marriage for the second time to widower Peter Epp, her present husband, and for almost twenty-three years they have shared joy and sorrow together in their trials of life.

The Lord had given her the talent of sharing helpfulness to many families. Her aim was to be a blessing to all.

In 1919 they made their home in Reedley, Calif., where they resided for four years. On account of father's poor eyesight they came back to Inman, Kan., where they lived till her death.

In 1879 she joined the K. M. B. Church to which conference she remained faithful to the end.

She has passed from us but we expect to meet her in the Great Beyond.

Funeral services were held at the Zoar Church, Rev. W. W. Harms officiated and was assisted by Rev. John Esau and Rev. Cor. Thiessen. Burial was in the Zoar cemetery. — Inman Review.
