SERVICES AT INMAN FOR YOUNG WOMAN

Inman, Kans. — Funeral services were held at the Zion Church of God in Christ, Mennonite on Monday, Feb. 2, for Mrs. Walter Ensz, 20, who died at the McPherson hospital Jan. 29 after a day’s illness. Her marriage to Mr. Ensz occurred less than a year ago.

Surviving in addition to her husband are her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Goossen, a sister and three brothers, all of Manitoba, and a brother Paul of Hesston.

MRS. LUELLA ENSZ

Luella Ensz, nee Goossen, daughter of Bro. and Sister Frank F. Goossen, was born at Rosenort, Manitoba Jan. 10, 1933, passed away suddenly to the Great Beyond on Thursday Jan. 29, 1953, reaching the age of 20 years and 19 days.

Luella grew to womanhood on her parents’ farm. She received her education in the Greenbank school at Morris, Manitoba.

At the age of 12 years she felt her lost condition. She repented, found forgiveness of her sins through the Blood of Christ and upon confession of her faith was baptized and added to the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite Dec. 16, 1945, by her uncle, Min. G. F. Goossen, to which she remained faithful unto the end.

Luella was a kind and obedient child at home and through her cheerful disposition won many friends wherever she went. She also was a lover of singing.

On April 27, 1952, she was united in holy matrimony with Walter Ensz of Inman, Kansas. During their short married life they lived for three months at Moundridge and six months at Little River, Kansas.

On Jan. 28 she became ill and was taken to the McPherson hospital. Though she was not so very ill, we thought it best for her to stay in the hospital, not thinking at all that her condition was serious. Thursday, Jan. 29, at 5:00 she fell into a coma and remained in that condition. Though the doctors and nurses did all they could, yet the Lord had another plan and took her quietly at 9:15, as we fully believe, into that heavenly Home.

She leaves to mourn her early departure her deeply bereaved husband, Walter Ensz; the parents on both sides, F. F. Goossens of Rosenort, Manitoba, and D. D. Ensz’s of Inman, Kansas; three brothers, Albert and Dan of Rosenort, Manitoba, and Paul of Hesston, Kansas; and one sister, Mrs. Ben Rempel; six sisters-in-law and four brothers-in-law, many uncles and aunts, and a host of relatives and friends.

We weep not as those that have no hope, but firmly believe she has gone to be with her Maker.

Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 2, at 1:00 in the home near Little River where Min. Abe Toews spoke words of comfort and led in prayer, and at 2:00 in the Zion church, where a large audience had gathered. Min. Clifford Mastre of Grafton, N. D. opened the meeting with the introduction based on Job 1:21, and prayer, after which Min. John D. Penner brought the message. For his texts he chose Rev. 14:13, Hos. 6:1, Rev. 7 beginning at the 13th verse, 2 Tim. 4:7-8. Min. John A. Ensz also added a few words of comfort.

Interment was made in the nearby cemetery where her Uncle Gerhard F. Goossen made closing remarks and offered prayer.
