HARVEST ACCIDENT CLAIMS LIFE OF THREE-YEAR-OLD GIRL

Conway, Kan. — Three-year-old Cheryl Ensz, a passenger in a car driven by her mother, Mrs. Jacob Ensz, was fatally injured July 3 when the car crashed into a grain truck backing from a field southwest of here.

The little girl was thrown from the auto. Her mother was not hurt and a sister Doris, 10, received only minor injuries.

CHERYL JOAN ENSZ

Cheryl Joan Ensz, daughter of Jake and Susie Ensz, was born April 23, 1958, at Goessel, Kan., and went to be with Jesus on July 3,1961, at the age of three years, two months, and 10 days.

Our darling little daughter and sister brought much joy and happiness in our home. She always was a healthy child, affectionate and loving, scattering much sunshine with her little words and action.

She loved singing, easily learning the songs we sang. Her daddy taught her to sing “My Heavenly Home Is Bright and Fair,” and in the evenings when we asked her what we should sing, she would say, “Let's sing, 'I'm going Home'.” She also liked to sing her Sunday school songs. On Monday morning she repeatedly sang the song, “The B-I-B-L-E,” which was the last song she sang.

On Monday evening, July 3, at 5 o'clock she was instantly taken away in an auto accident. She leaves her deeply bereaved parts; four sisters, Lois, Ruth, Luella, and Dorothy; and her grandparents, Mrs. Abe Ensz and Mr. and Mrs. Isaac K. Friesen.

Funeral services took place July 7 at 9:30 a.m. at the home, where Min. John A. Ensz spoke words of comfort on Job 1:21, and at 10 in the Zion Church, where many friends and neighbors had gathered. Min. Abe R. Toews brought the message, choosing for his texts Psalm 50:1, Mark 10:13-15, and 2 Sam. 12:23. Burial was made in the nearby cemetery with Min. Daniel Koehn in charge.— the Family.
