HENRY ENS

Henry Ens passed away Nov. 30 . He was born in 1926 to John A. and Marie Ens in Hague, Sask. and grew up in Waldheim, Sask . He en- joyed swimming in the river and working on the farm with his Dad, especially with horses. At 14, he accepted Christ, based on John 1:12, after talking with a friend on a threshing machine. He was bap- tized in 1946 in the Saskatchewan River and joined Waldheim MB Church. He completed high school in 1945, taught school for several months, then attended Bethany Bible School for 3 years . In 1948 he moved to St. Catharines Ont. He married Sally Heidebrecht in May 1950. He was a devoted husband, fa- ther and grandfather. He worked at GM for 5 years while taking night classes, earning a Reg- istered Industrial Accountant degree in 1963. He worked as an accountant in Canada for sev- eral years and then in Niagara Falls, NY, and Sanborne, NY for 25 years, retiring in 1988. For many years he served as treasurer of Scott St. and then Grantham MB Churches in St. Catharines. He served on many MB Confer- ence committees. In his last 2 years he strug- gled with memory and comprehension prob- lems but continued to try to help. He was a gentle man with a quiet spirit who rarely lost his cool, a peacemaker and a man of few but wise words. On Nov. 11 he suffered a stroke and lost his ability to speak . Predeceased by 3 sisters, he is mourned by Sally; son Rob ert; daughter Eileen Baerg; and 2 granddaughters. The funeral was Dec. 3 at Grantham MB Church, with Bob Enns, John Wiebe and John Block ministering.
