MRS. ANNIE DICK ENNS

Annie Dick Enns, daughter of Frank and Helena Wiebe Dick, was born on Jan. 14, 1875 in South Russia. At the age of four she came with her parents to Kansas where they settled on a farm near Buhler.

On Sept. 18, 1894, she was united in holy matrimony to our father, John M. Enns. Their union which lasted 61 years, four months, and two days was blessed with six sons and two daughters.

Our parents made their first home on a farm near Buhler. In 1904 they moved to Hooker, Okla., where they laid claim to a farm, and two years later returned to Buhler.

In 1907 our parents both found personal salvation in the Lord Jesus Christ and on April 1 that same year were baptized by Elder Heinrich Adrian and united with the Mennonite Brethren Church. In 1912 our parents moved to Reedley Calif. and settled on a farm. A few years later our father entered the lumber business and they moved to the city of Reedley.

Our mother had a rich and full life, helping many people. For many years she was a practical nurse. She was active in church and in the ladies missionary society. She loved the Lord, and rejoiced in her salvation. Our father was taken from her side in 1956. About three years ago she entered the Reedley Home for the Aged where she quietly passed to her eternal reward on May 15, 1964. She reached the age of 89 years, four months, and one day.

She leaves to mourn her eight children, John F. of Reedley, Frank D. of Wasco, Calif., Dick A. of Enid, Okla., Jack A. of Kingsburg, Calif., Mrs. Anna Wiens and Mrs. Helen Garner of Wasco, Calif., Arnold of Bakersfield, Calif., and Ernest E. of Reedley; 26 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jacob Dick, age 96, of Reedley, and Frank Dick, age 94, of Halstead, Kan.; three sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law.

The memorial service was held in the Mennonite Brethren Church, Reedley, with Rev. Dan Friseen [sic Friesen] officiating.
