MRS. ANNA FRIESEN ENNS

Mrs. Anna Friesen Enns was born July 13, 1883, to Klaas D. and Agnetha Friesen at Jansen, Neb.

Her education was largely received in the German language in her early youth. She was baptized June 2, 1901 by Elder Abr. Friesen in the Kleine Gemeinde Church at Jansen, Neb. Later she joined the Bethel Church, Inman, Kan., whose faithful member she remained until her death.

She was united in marriage Nov. 28, 1908 to John P. Enns. This union was blessed with five children. After 17 years of married life, the husband and father was taken in death July 2, 1925. Mother was a widow for over 41 years. Our family lived in the Inman community for over 58 years.

After the death of our father, Mr. and Mrs. Abe Kroeker (Mrs. Kroeker being a sister of our mother) lived with us and helped with the responsibilities of the home and farm for a few years.

Mother spent the last six years in the Pleasant View Home at Inman. Here she busied herself with piecing quilt tops for the Charity Society. She found great joy in doing this work for the cause of missions and relief.

Our mother had many trials and added responsibilities as a widow in rearing her family. (Three children, a boy and two girls, passed away in infancy.) She was left with two sons, who gave her much joy as she reared them in the admonition of the Lord. Mother was a devoted Christian and found much joy in reading her Bible. She led a life of prayer. Her trust in the Lord was unwavering.

She spent the last ten weeks of her life in the Salem Hospital at Hillsboro, Kan. The Lord took her to himself on June 15, 1966. She reached the age of 82 years, 11 months and two days.

Those who mourn her passing are her two sons, Abe and wife Linda, and John and wife Rachel, of Inman, Kan.; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; three sisters, Mary and husband George Classen, and Sarah and husband Frank Classen of Fresno, Calif., and Elizabeth and husband Abe H. Schnell of Wichita, Kan.; two brothers, Corney Friesen, Fresno, Calif. and Henry Friesen and wife Helen of Midway City, Calif.; one brother-in-law, Abe Kroeker and wife Agnes; also, three brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law from the father's family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one brother Abe and wife Lizzie, and one sister, Mrs. Agnes Kroeker.

Funeral services were held in the Bethel Church, Inman, on June 17, 1966 at 10 a.m. in charge of the pastor, Rev. P. A. Wedel, assisted by Rev. John Thiessen of the Memorial Home, Moundridge, Kan.
