MRS. WM. M. ENNS

It has pleased God, the Lord of life and death, to take our beloved wife and mother to His eternal Glory.

She was born Nov. 7, 1895 at Rosenbach, five miles north of Winkler, Man. Her parents were Jacob and Anna Loewen.

At the age of 19 she came under conviction of sin and asked her Saviour for forgiveness. She came to the full assurance of salvation, and had the peace in her heart that she was a child of God. Upon this she was baptized by Elder Jacob Hoeppner and received as a member into the Bergthaler Mennonite church. In this faith she has been faithful to the end.

Soon after we became acquainted, before we were married, she asked me whether I would not want to receive Christ too. It was impossible for me to resist her and the Lord's invitation to come to Him, and I also found peace and became a child of God. On Oct. 19, 1916 we were married and have for 43 years shared joys and sorrows.

The Lord gave us five children, for whom she cared with much love and devotion. She was a good mother and grandmother.

She experienced one of her greatest joys of life last spring when she learned that two of her children and two in-laws had decided to become children of God, and follow Him. It had been one of her greatest burdens that every one of her children might find salvation in Christ and follow that way in life. The Lord has allowed her this privilege.

Our beloved wife and mother was sick much in life. In her earlier years she had to undergo two major operations. About three years ago she developed a heart condition, and had been under doctor's care ever since. She had also been afflicted during the last several years with a kidney condition. During one of our MCC service engagements, she helped in the preparation of a hospital in the city of Cuauhtemoc, Mexico. She was the first patient in this hospital. She was always burdened for the great need in the world. She has been a great help to me in my work with the MCC. Until her last evening in our home she sat at her sewing machine and was busily sewing to alleviate suffering somewhere in the world. We believe that Matthew 25 will surely apply to her too, for what she did to one of the least of His brethren, she has done unto the Lord.

She became ill Friday evening, Oct. 23, and was taken to the hospital where she died unexpectedly a few hours later. She reached the age of 63 years, 11 months and 17 days.

Our beloved wife, mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother leaves to mourn, her husband, two sons, two daughters-in-law, three daughters, three sons-in-law, 13 grandchildren, her parents, her mother-in-law, a large circle of relatives on both sides, and many friends.

We as a family seem to face a dark and unknown future, and yet we do not mourn as those who have no hope, for our hope is in the Lord. — Wm. M. Enns and Family.
