MRS. JACOB D. ENNS

Mary Unruh, daughter of Peter and Elizabeth (Eck) Unruh, was born April 28, 1881 at Pawnee Rock, Kan. she departed this life to be ushered into the presence of her Savior on Feb. 14 at Dinuba, Calif. She reached the age of 79 years, nine months and 16 days.

Because of the family's poor financial condition she was adopted by Mr. and Mrs. Henry Froese of Inman, Kan. at the age of four years. In this new home she found tender care and a positive Christian training.

As a teenager she accepted Christ as her Redeemer and on June 3, 1900 she was baptized by the Elder Abraham Schellenburg and received into the membership of the Buhler, Kan. Mennonite Brethren Church.

On Nov. 2,1900 she joined hands with Jacob D. Enns in holy wedlock, with the Elder Abr. Schellenberg officiating.

This union was blessed with six children, two sons and four daughters. One daughter Mary, preceded her in death in April 1933.

Mr. and Mrs. Enns lived for two years at Buhler, Kansas, and one year at Hillsboro, then moving to Medford, Oklahoma and farming there till 1908, when they moved to the Reedley, Calif. community. They lived at Reedley until retiring to Dinuba in 1942.

On July 19, 1950 she suffered a heart attack from which she never fully recovered. The last 15 months she had been bedfast. On Tuesday morning, Feb. 14, she was permitted to gently fall asleep here to awaken in the presence of her blessed Savior, relieved from all pain and exhaustion.

Now in glory, she is awaiting her husband, Jacob D. Enns of Dinuba, Calif.; three daughters, Elizabeth Enns and Martha Enns, both of Dinuba; and Mrs. Margaret Nufeld, Blaine, Wash.; two sons, Albert Enns of Reedley, Calif. and Jake Enns of Kingsburg, Calif.; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Peter Unruh of Hominy, Okla.; three sisters, Mrs. Emma Schmidt, Goessel, Kan., Mrs. Anna Schmidt, Pawnee Rock, Kan., and Mrs. Martha Koop, Winton, Calif., and many other relatives and friends.
