JACOB J. ENNS

Jacob J. Enns was born on August 14, 1886 in Orloff, Kherson, Russia. When he was of school age his parents took him to live with his grandparents, where he could attend school. Later he helped his parents move to Siberia and settle there.

He was married on August 29, 1910 and for almost 59 years shared joys and sorrows with his wife. The Lord gave them 13 children five of whom predeceased him. In 1929 they moved to Canada, settling for 18 years in Alberta and then moving to Yarrow, B.C. in 1947. Mr. Enns was a widower for seven years. On the morning of March 13 the Lord called him home.

A funeral service was held March 16 in the Yarrow Mennonite Brethren Church with pastor A. L. Klassen officiating.

He leaves to mourn two sons, Abe of LaGlace, Alta., and Henry of Clearbrook, B.C.; six daughters, (Mrs.) Annie Grams and (Mrs.) Louise Robinson of Grande Prairie, Alta., (Mrs.) Helen Student of Buffalo Lake, Alta., and (Mrs.) Sara Axenty, (Mrs.) Lydia Young and (Mrs.) Martha Ockwell of Vancouver; 20 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren; and many relatives and friends.
