Birth date: 1863 Jan 7
text of obituary:
FRANZ D. ENNS was born in South Russia on January 7, 1863, and passed away at Reedley, Calif., on November 3, 1938, having attained the age of 75 years and 10 months, less 4 days.
The family emigrated from Russia to the United States when the deceased was eleven years of age. They established their home at Mt. Lake, Minnesota. Here he grew to manhood. He was baptized at the age of 25 and joined elder Wall’s Mennonite Church.
On May 9, 1889 he was married to Kathrina A. Harder who, with 7 of their 9 children, survives him, two children having preceded the father in death. Eleven grandchildren also survive the deceased.
In 1906 the family moved to Aberdeen, Idaho, where they remained 12 years. In 1918 they came to Reedley, California, and have resided here since that time. They joined the First Mennonite Church soon after their arrival and have been associated with its work ever since.
The deceased became critically ill August 10, 1938, and for nearly 3 months endured great pain during most of the time. He wished and prayed for release from this suffering and seemed glad when he felt that the moment of his departure was at hand. He was grateful for the fact that he had an opportunity to see all of his children before the time of his departure came, and bade them a hearty farewell.
