WELL-KNOWN MINISTER OF VIRGINIA CHURCH DIED SUDDENLY
Harrisonburg, Va. — Dewey Emswiler, a well known minister of the Mennonite Church, died suddenly at his home on Runion's Creek Thursday evening, April 29. He seemed to be in his usual good health and his sudden passing came as a great shock to his family and many friends.
Bro. Emswiler was born Sept. 5, 1898, in the Runion's Creek session work at Knoxville, Tenn. in August 1935 and served in mission work at Knoxville, Tenn. from 1937 to 1939. Since that time he had spent the remainder of his life in the community where he died.
Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at Trissles Mennonite church with three local bishops in charge and his fellow ministers acting as pall bearers.
