MRS. KATHERINE ELSINGER

Mrs.) Katherine EIsinger of Coaldale, Alta. died on November 9, awakened by the Lord to be with him forever in glory: She was born to Isaak and Margaret Klassen on May 18, 1902 in Osterwick, Russia. Five years later the family immigrated to Canada and settled in ·southern Saskatchewan near what is now Kelstern. At the age of 13 she found the Lord, was baptized and welcomed into the Elim Mennonite Brethren Church at Kelstern. On November 23, 1941 she was married to George Eisinger, an unbeliever at the time, and was set aside by her church. Her husband attended the Mennonite Brethren Bible School at Coaldale and became a Christian before Christmas of the same year. When her husband was baptized in August 1942, Rev. B. B. Janz called her forward to join her husband, saying, "Why weepest thou, sister? The Lord has done great things unto us , whereof we are glad! " She was welcomed into the Coaldale Mennonite Brethren Church. She loved music and sang in the church choir for many years, sometimes taking the alto solos. She had played an old-fashioned organ in her youth, and in 1969 when the sugar beet harvest was good, she got one of her own. She delighted many with her music, at home and at the Lethbridge Rehabilitation Hospital where she spent her last ten months, and now sings in heaven with a perfect voice.

She is survived by her husband George, one son, Robert and Jan and their daughter May-Ellen of Whitecourt, Alta., and by three brothers.
