— Mr. and Mrs. P. D. Gaeddert received word that their grandson, Kenneth Wane [sic Wayne] Eitzen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dan (Viola) Eitzen of Albuquerque, N. M., died on April 26 from injuries received in an auto accident. Funeral services were to be held Wednesday morning at Albuquerque.

KENNETH W. EITZEN

Kenneth W. Eitzen was born to Mr. and Mrs. Dan W. Eitzen on Oct. 24, 1939, at Hillsboro, Kansas, thus being permitted the short life span of 18 and one-half years.

Though slight of stature, Kenneth was usually healthy and grew into a fine specimen of manhood. He excelled in school work but was especially fitted to do things with his hands. His early love was leatherwork which was later changed to automobiles because of his natural mechanical ability. He belonged to an automobile club and enjoyed the association of other young club members in working, reworking and planning new gadgets for their cars.

Kenneth accepted Christ as his personal Savior at the age of nine and held membership in the Fruit Avenue Baptist Church alongside the other members of his family. For seven years he had attended the Inlow Youth Camp and was looking forward to his eighth year in the Manzano Mountains.

Kenneth loved his school work from the beginning in the elementary grades right on to the second half of his freshman year at the University of New Mexico. He was a merit student in his eighth and ninth grades at Washington Junior High. At Albuquerque High he belonged to the Latin Club, the Honor Society, and worked as a staff member of the Record, student newspaper.

As a freshman at the University he was taking a pre-engineering course and was looking forward to a career as an engineer. In his spare time he worked at Barbers' Super Market and was much loved by fellow employees and his employers. His employers had especially noted his courtesy and helpfulness toward customers.

God called Kenneth Home Sunday morning, April 27, at 11:10 as a result of an auto accident. We will miss him but we know that God knows best. While it hurt to say good-bye we know that he is living in a much fairer land and we are secure in the knowledge that we shall join him some day where there will be no good-byes.

He is survived by his parents; a brother Donald, 15, and a sister Betty Ann, 13; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. P. D. Gaeddert, and 10 uncles and auts. He is mourned also by Miss Camille Lyon, a high school friend and inseparable companion for many months. — The Family.
