MRS. LYDIA EICHER

Lydia, daughter of Jacob and Elizabeth (Buerge) Litwiller, was born Jan. 18, 1866, in Ontario, Can. and died April 19, 1951, aged 85 years, two months and 24 days.

In 1872 she moved with her parents to Reed City, Mich. and in 1883 to within a few miles of St. Johns, Mich. In her early youth she was converted and united with the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, and remained a faithful member to the end.

On Jan. 28, 1889, she was united in marriage to Samuel Eicher, who preceded her in death nearly seven years ago. This union was not blessed with Children but they gave a home to a number of children and were always ready to give to the needy. Lydia lived a self-sacrificing life and her greatest joy was to attend church services and read her Bible, in which she was well versed. We mourn not as those who have no hope for she left the blessed assurance of being ready to meet her Lord.

She leaves to mourn her departure two brothers, Jacob and John Litwiller, and two sisters, Mrs. Leah Fricke and Fanny, Mrs. August Peters, with whom she made her home for nearly seven years and who tenderly cared for her to the end.

Her parents, one brother and two sisters preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, April 22, at the Newark Mennonite church, with Min. Glenn Litwiller officiating.
