text of obituary:

MRS. MICHAEL EICHER, daughter of Karl and Philipena Laurer, was born in the Rheinpfalz, Bavaria, Germany, on September 23, 1844. It was there that she received her early education and training. In 1867, she emigrated to America and came to Summerfield, Illinois, where she started to do domestic work. — On February 1, 1868, she was united in marriage with Michael Eicher. This union was blessed with one son and one daughter. Her husband passed away on April 29, 1896, and for almost 45 years she was a widow and lived with her children on a farm near Summerfield.

About two and one-half years ago, she had a fall in which she injured herself, so that she could no longer walk and was bedfast most of the time. She gradually became weaker from the infirmities of old age and passed away on January 17, at the age of 95 years, 3 months, and 24 days. — She leaves to mourn her departure one son and one daughter, one stepdaughter, some nephews and nieces and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Evangelical church in Summerfield and were conducted by Rev. Elmer Basinger. Interment was made in the Summerfield cemetery.
