&bull; Funeral services for Mrs. S. P. Ediger were held last week at the Hoffnungsau Mennonite Church near Inman, Mrs. Ediger having passed away in the Bethel Deaconess Hospital in Newton on July 4. Death came to Mrs. Ediger at the age of 78, after a long illness. Mrs. Sam Guhr of North Newton is among the seven children (four sons and three daughters) who survive.

Agnes (Friesen) Ediger was born to Dietrich and Aganetha (Pauls) Friesen on Dec. 3, 1888 on a farm southwest of Inman, Kan. She died July 4, 1967 at the Bethel Deaconess Hospital in Newton, reaching the age of 78 years, seven months and one day.

She received her education at Welcome School, a parochial school near Inman.

Upon confession of her faith she wa baptized by Elder Abraham Ratzlaff and became a member of the Hoffnungsau Church.

She was married to Solomon P. Ediger on July 28, 1910, at the home of her parents by her father, Rev. Abraham Ratzlaff [?]. To this union were born eight children, of whom one daughter was still-born in 1916. Her husband preceded her in death March 7, 1960, five months short of their 50th wedding anniversary.

Mother was a faithful member of the church and an active member of the women's sewing circle ("Naehverein").

She underwent several operations in her lifetime, a major stomach surgery in 1964 and for a malignancy of the colon and liver in Dec. 1966. On March 3 she re-entered the hospital where she spent the remaining four months of her life.

She leaves to mourn her departure four sons, Dick, Pete, Jake, and Frank, all of Inman; three daughters, Mrs. Sam Guhr (Linda) of North Newton, Mrs. Leland Nikkel (Esther) and Mrs. Arnold Schmidt (Anna), both of Moundridge; 26 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. H. B. Martens (Lizzie), Mrs. M. W. Doerksen (Anna), and one brother, Rev. Dietrich Friesen, all of Inman. &#8212; The Children.
