John S. Ediger born on the 29th day of October 1848 in (Prangenau) in Southern Russia, and died February the 18th 15 minutes after 12 A.M. 1926.
When he was 20 years of age he became affiliated with the Rudnerweide, church through baptism and confirmation. In 1884 he came to America with his parents, Solomon Edigers who settled at Lehigh Kansas where he became a member of the Alexanderwohl church. In 1894 he come to Oklahoma as a pioneer and filed a homestead in the eastern part of Washita County, near Corn Oklahoma, on which land he has lived till his end. He became a member of the Bergthal church of the community of which he has been a member until his death. Since age was beginning to make inroads in his health and he had no one to take care of him in case of sickness, his niece, Miss Anna Neufeld, went to live with him. Although times became very trying through his sick spells Miss Neufeld has faithfully attended to him. About 4 years ago he was kicked by one of his horses of which effects his health seemingly was broken. Later he fell sick with diabetes which finally gave way to dropsy causing his death.
He was not confined to his bed until the last three days during which he suffered severely. During these days he was unconscious most of the time and reached the age of 79 years 3 months and 9 days.
He leaves to mourn his death one brother and one sister and a number of nephews and nieces and a large host of friends.
