ELIZABETH PENNER EDIGER

Elizabeth Penner Ediger, daughter of Franz F. and Elizabeth Fast Penner, was born on April 21, 1878 near Lushton, Neb.

In her youth she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour, was baptized and became a member of the E. M. B. Church of Henderson, Neb.

Although she had little schooling she endeavored to serve the Lord the best she could, always ready to lend a helping hand as long as health permitted. Her quiet conscientious life was a blessing to many. Her continued deep concern was that all her family, children and grandchildren might be ready to meet the Lord.

In November of 1939 she was joined in marriage to John S. Ediger of Dallas, Ore. She assumed the responsibility as wife and mother of the large family cheerfully and faithfully. She shared the joys and sorrows of life with her husband until the Lord took him home on Dec. 27, 1952. Shortly after coming to Oregon she joined the Dallas E. M. B. Church.

Since January 1962 she had made her home in the Dallas Rest Home. For the past six months she was bedfast. During the last week she endured much suffering. She passed quietly into His presence on Sunday Jun 14, 1964, reaching the age of 86 years, one month, and 24 days.

Surviving are six sons and five daughters, Henry and Herman of Dallas, Cornelius and Frank of Salem, Ore. Peter of Dayton, Ore., and John of Santa Cruz, Calif.; Mrs. Linda Kroeker of Dallas, Mrs. Marie Dalke, Mrs. Margaret Zimmerman and Mrs. Kathryn Harms of Salem, and Mrs. Louis Elrich of Bakersfield, Calif. Also mourning her departure are the grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Kroeker of Dallas and Maria Penner of Henderson, Nv.; three brothers, Gerhard Penner of Henderson, and Henry and Isaac of Inman, Kan.; one brother-in-law, seven sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
