Eck — Herman Walter Eck, a son of friend Reuben Ecks, was born near Fairview, Okla., June 5, 1915; and died Sunday evening, Augu. 31, 1930, by drowning. He was bathing with several companions in Marshalls Lake near Longdale, when he suddenly stepped in deep water and failed to reappear after sinking, and it was some time before his body could be located. Every possible effort was made to save his life but without avail.
He leaves to mourn his youthful departure, three brothers, three sisters, his father and mother and grandparents from both sides, also many friends. He was known in school and in the community as a good and obedient boy. funeral services were held in the Fairview church at Fairview, Okla., Wednesday, Sept. 3, where words of comfort and admonition were spoken to the many friends and relatives who had gathered. The remains were laid to rest in the Cedar cemetery.
