Young Man Killed When Auto Skid into Path of Truck

Kidron, Ohio. — A two-vehicle crash near here the morning of Sept. 3 claimed the life of Moris Ray Eberly, 22, son of Dr. an Mrs. Wain Eberly of Mt. Eaton.

The young man was believed en route to his job as a carpenter for the Ed Mullet Construction Co. when his light car went off the pavement onto the shoulder, and he lost control as he tried to steer back onto the roadway. The car skidded into the path of an oncoming pickup truck driven by Darrel L. Johnson, 20, of rural Rittman. Johnson's mother was injured but is recovering.

Young Eberly spent two years in service with the Northern Light gospel Mission, Red Lake, Ont. Recently his engagement to Lois Wenger of Leburnn, Ky., had been announced. He was a member of the Sharon Conservative Mennonite Church, Sugarcreek, where the funeral was conducted on Sept. 7.

Survivors in addition to the parents include a brother, James, of the home; four sisters, Mrs. Andy Miller of Ontario, Can., Kathleen, Elaine and Loretta of the home; and the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Eberly of rural Orville and Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Horst of Dalton.
