Dyck— Mrs. Helene Dyck was born February 25, 1857, at Loeske, West Prussia, Germany, and died February 19, 1925. Thus bringing her life to 68 years minus 6 days. The deceased was the daughter of Gerhard and Anna Regier. At the age of 16 she united through baptism with the Mennonite church of Heubuden. In 1876 she came to America with her parents and brothers and sisters, and settled in Butler County, Kansas. She was united in marriage to Johann Dyck in 1877. To this union were born ten children, of which three died in early childhood. In 1897 her husband was called from her side. During the Christmas holidays the deceased contracted a cold, which finally developed into spinal meningitis of which she died at 12:50 P. M., on February 19. Her death is mourned by five sons, two daughters, two daughter-in-law, three brothers, three sisters, and many relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted at the home by Rev. John P. Andres and at the Emmaus church by Rev B. W. Harder and Rev. H. J. Dyck. Interment was made at the Emmaus Cemetery.
