Pioneer Engineer Dies At Hillsboro

Hillsboro, Kan. — Abraham H. Dyck, 91, who was the town's first water superintendent, died at Salem Hospital here on Sunday evening, Dec. 23, following a long illness. He had retired from city employment in 1953.

Funeral services were held at the Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church on Wednesday, Dec. 26, with Rev. Marvin Hein, the pastor, in charge.

A native of Greenfield, Man., Dyck served the Hillsboro, M. B. church as a Sunday school officer and was in charge of the church's cemetery.

Surviving are his widow, the former Eva Schroeder, two sons, Emice, J. of Salina, and Gladwin C. of Lindsborg; a daughter, Virginia, Mrs. Herbert Batt of McPherson; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
