MRS. MARIE DYCK

(Mrs.) Marie Dyck was born on November 17, 1893 to Mr. and Mrs. John Willems of Hampton, Nebraska. Her parents died while she was still a girl, and her early years were spent with relatives. She accepted Jesus as her personal Saviour in 1912, and was baptized into the fellowship of the church in Henderson, Nebraska. While visiting her sisters and brother in Canada she met and married Benjamin Dyck of Great Deer, Saskatchewan, on October 31, 1915. The Dycks farmed at Great Deer for a few years, and for 17 years at Mennon, Saskatchewan, where they joined the Dalmeny Mennonite Brethren Church. In 1946 they moved to Abbotsford, B.C. where they farmed until retirement there in 1958.

Mrs. Dyck suffered from various illnesses; in her seventies she was miraculously delivered from a serious operation, realizing the Lord called her to remain to pray for her children and grandchildren. Cancer was diagnosed in 1974, but the Dycks were able to celebrate their Diamond Anniversary in 1975.

Her condition deteriorated and after two weeks of hospitalization she quietly passed into the presence of the Lord on July 13. Her family remembers her as a wonderful Christian example and a tremendous prayer warrior whose sincere desire was that her children would follow the Lord.

She is mourned by her loving husband, Benjamin; by six sons and their wives, Ben and Ann, Walter and Linda, Clarence and Helen, Alvin and Darlene, Menno and Luella, and John and Edith; by one daughter, Alma (Mrs. Bill) Neufeld; 23 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, (Mrs.) Elizabeth Hildebrandt; and a host of relatives and friends.
