• Mrs. Marie Dyck of Buhler, wife of P. J. Dyck, died at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Hutchinson on Saturday after a six-day illness. She was 73. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Buhler Mennonite Church, with Rev. P. K. Regier officiating. Survivors in addition to her husband are a son, Arnold, and daughter, Elva, both of the home; one brother, H. J. Reimer, and two sisters, Mrs. Agnes Klassen and Mrs. Anna Quiring, all of Goessel.

MRS. P. J. DYCK

Mrs. P. J. Dyck, daughter of John W. and Aganetha Boese Reimer, was born March 18, 1889 at Canton, Kansas. She attended the local public school and later the Goessel Preparatory School for one year and also a year at the Hoffnungsau Preparatory School, Inman, Kansas.

On May 19, 1907 she was baptized upon the confession of her faith by Elder Peter Balzer and received into the fellowship of the Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church near Goessel, Kansas. later she transferred her membership to the Hoffnungsau Mennonite Church, Inman, and on Dec. 27, 1920 she was received as a member of the Buhler Mennonite church in Buhler, Kansas.

On June 10, 1911 she was united in marriage to Peter J. Dyck. They made their home six miles east of Buhler, and in 1913 moved to the town of Buhler where she spent the rest of her days. To this union two children were born, a son Arnold and daughter Elva.

She took great interest in the affairs of the church and was active in the Sewing and Mission Society. She was a faithful wife and mother and found joy in unselfish service, making her home a place of welcome to friends and relatives from near and far.

She was grateful for the privilege of celebrating together with her husband the 50th anniversary of their married life on June 10, 1961.

The loving Heavenly Father saw fit to call her home rather suddenly on March 31, 1962. She reached the age of 73 years and13 days. One sister, Mrs. Katherine Franz, and three brothers, Aaron, William, and John, preceded her in death.

Those who mourn her departure are her deeply grieving husband and children; two sisters, Mrs. Agnes Klassen and Mrs. Anna Quiring, both of Goessel, Kansas; a brother, Henry Reimer and wife Susie, also of Goessel; two other sisters-in-law, Mrs. Aaron Reimer of Perryton, Texas and Mrs. Lena Schmidt and her husband John F. Schmidt, Goessel; and a brother-in-law, John H. Franz of Fairview, Okla. — The Bereaved Family.
