GERHARD DYCK

Gerhard Henry Dyck, son of Henry and Marie Allert Dyck, was born Feb. 18, 1895, near Beatrice, Neb. He departed this life to be with his Lord and Savior whom he loved and served, on March 19, 1960, at Ritzville, Wash. after a long illness. He attained the age of 65 years, one month, and one day.

He moved with his parents to Washington in 1902, pioneering near Schrag. In 1930, he moved near Colfax and Lacrosse, where he was actively engaged in farming until his health failed.

He was baptized and received into the fellowship of the Menno Mennonite church in 1911, where he was an active member until he transferred his membership to the Onecho Mennonite church near Colfax in 1936. There, too, he was an active member, serving in both church and Sunday school work.

He is survived by three sisters, Justina, Mrs. Joe G. Schrag of Moses Lake, Wash., Agatha, Mrs. Julius Franz of Lind, Wash., Helen, Mrs. E. C. Schrag of Ritzville; two brothers, Frank I. and Henry W. Dyck, both of Ritzville; two sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, many nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends. His parents and three sisters preceded him in death.

We will miss him, for he was a kind brother and uncle, willing to help anyone in need. He has been an inspiration to many, especially during his last illness.
