— After an illness of six weeks, Edwand [sic Eduard] J. Dyck, of rural Newton, died last Tuesday at the St. Francis hospital in Wichita. Funeral services were conducted on Saturday in the Emmaus Mennonite church by his pastor, Rev. L. R. Amstutz. Mr. Dyck was born at Whitewater, Kan. in 1913 and lived in this community all his life. He is survived by his mother, six brothers and six sisters.

EDWARD [sic EDUARD] JACOB DYCK

Edward [sic Eduard] Jacob Dyck was born Feb. 17, 1913, near Whitewater, Kan. he departed this life Sept. 20, attaining the age of 47 years and seven months.

Upon confession of his faith he mecame [sic] a member of the Emmaus Mennonite church in 1931, where he retained his membership until death.

Although he had suffered severe illness almost from the time of birth, he enjoyed good health for most of his later life.

He especially enjoyed having his many friends and relatives visit him in his room at the St. Francis Hospital in Wichita. He was fond of children and they of him especially his many nieces and nephews who knew him simply as Uncle Eddie.

Although he looked forward to returning to his farm and the life with his mother, it was not to be. The end came as quietly and peacefully as he had lived.

He leaves his mother, Mrs. Marie G. Dyck, Whitewater, six sisters, Kaete [sic Kaethe] Dyck, Whitewater, Mrs. Gertrude Schmidt, Beatrice, Neb., Louise Dyck, Whitewater, Mrs. Esther Schmidt, Wichita, Mrs. Irene Claassen, Aberdeen, Idaho, and Linda Dyck, San Francisco Calif.; six brothers, Will of Wichita, Robert or [sic] Quincy, Calif. Bruno of Des Moines, Iowa, Walter of Johnson, Vt., Arthur, of Whitewater, and Herbert of St. Louis, Mo.; five sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; nieces nephews, and many relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, J. J. Dyck, and one sister.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 24, at the Dyck home and at two o'clock at the Emmaus Mennonite Church, with the Rev. L. R. Amstutz officiating. Interment was in the Emmaus Church Cemetery.
