Accident at Hesston Fatal to Buhler Man

Hesston, Kan. — An accident at the Hesston Manufacturing Company on Sept. 25 claimed the life of William J. Dun, 63, an employee of the company from Buhler. It was the first fatal accident in the history of the local firm.

Mr. Dunn was helping another employee dismantle a storage rack when he fell less than five feet to the concrete floor, resulting in a broken neck and severe concussion. He reportedly loosened one end of a bar on the rack, then leaned against it, lost his balance and fell.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Buhler Mennonite Church, of which he was a member.

Survivors include his wife, the former Lena Dirks, a son, William, administrator of the Mennonite Hospital at Bloomington, Ill.; a daughter Mrs. Mary Joan Banman of Spencer, Ia.; two sisters and five grandchildren.
