LYDIA MAGGIE DRIVER
Lydia Maggie Driver, daughter of Pre. D. F. and Sally Branner Driver, was born March 13, 1875, near Versailles, Mo., and passed away on Jan. 26, 1959, at the age of 83 years, 10 months and 13 days. She lived practically all of her life in Morgan County, Mo.
Early in life she accepted Christ and united with the Mt. Zion Mennonite church. Her life was largely devoted to service for others, often in homes of the sick where her help was needed. She loved her Bible and spent many hours reading its pages. She was a faithful attendant at church services and was active in the sewing circle and Sunday school work of her church so long as her health permitted.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, Frank, Lewis, John, Jake and C. B. (Neal) Driver, and two sisters, Ida, Mrs. W. M. Lingle and Emma, Mrs. David Shank. She is survived by two brothers, Bishop Joe C. Driver of La Junta, Colo., and Arthur Driver of Howe, Ind., and one sister, Mrs. Fanny Dettwiler of Boonville, Mo. There are many other surviving relatives who will miss her, but who rejoice to know that she is at rest with Christ her Saviour.
Funeral services were held from the Mt. Zion Mennonite church on Wednesday, Jan. 28, with Rev. J. P. Brubaker of Edwards, Mo., officiating. Interment was in Mt. Zion cemetery. Hymns were sung by the church quartet.
Those from a distance attending the funeral were Joe C. Driver of LaJunta, Colo., Mr. and Mrs. Harry Dettwiler of Washington, Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. Protus Brubaker of Edwards, Mo., Mr. and Mrs. Roy Driver of Quenemo, Kan., and Mr. and Mrs. Jake Driver and Elinor of Blue Springs, Mo.
