MRS. ALICE R. DRIVER

Alice Rebecca Weaver was born February 10, 1877, near Oronego, Missouri, a daughter of Joseph and Susanna Shank Weaver.

On February 7, 1900, she was united in marriage with John R. Driver of Versailles, Missouri. She and her husband established their home on a farm near Versailles.

Mrs. Driver peacefully passed to her eternal reward on Sunday morning, February 22, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Leroy Gingerich, at the age of 76 years and 12 days after an illness of about six months. She bore patiently her many days of sickness until the Lord called her home.

Surviving her are her two daughters, Mrs. Carl Hilty and Mrs. Leroy Gingerich; five grandchildren, Twila, Kathryn, and Doris Hilty, James and Naomi Gingerich; her two sons-in-law; also a number of nieces and nephews, and a host of neighbors and friends.

Preceding her in death were her devoted husband in 1926, and four of her daughters, Ada, Fanny Margaret, Pearl, and Ruth. She was also preceded in death by her eight brothers, John, Dave, Benjamin, Jerry, Will, Charley, Jesse, and Jonas Weaver, and two sisters Nellie, and Mrs. Mary Cockley, and two half sisters, Mrs. Betty Hotckiess and Mrs. Sue Smith.

Early in life she accepted Christ as her personal Saviour and united with the Mennonite church in which faith she continued faithful to the end. During the 53 years of her residence in Morgan county, Missouri, she was a member of the Mt. Zion Mennonite church near Versailles.

She was a devoted wife and mother. Because of her kind and cheerful disposition she readily made many friends who keenly feel the sorrow of her passing. She will be missed in the home, the church and the community. We know that our loss is her eternal gain and realize that she has gone to be forever with the Lord.

Funeral services were held at Mt. Zion church February 24 at 1:30 p.m. Interment was made in Mt. Zion cemetery with Amos Gingerich of Parnell, Iowa, officiating assisted by E. A. Albrecht, pastor of Bethel church and J. R. Shank having graveside services, and Protus Brubaker having prayer service at the home.

Those from a distance who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Roy Ebersole and D. A. Raber of Hesston, Kansas; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Driver of Quenemo, Kansas; Mr. and Mrs. Roman Stutzman, Alvin Weaver, Homer Garber and Mrs. Anna Smith of Kansas City; Miss Lydia Driver and Mr. and Mrs. Protus Brubaker of Edwards, Missouri; Joe C.
