GEORGE DRIEDIGER

George Driedger of Calgary passed away on November 16. He was born to Gerhard and Catherine (Penner) Driedger on November 29,1912 in Main Centre, Sask. His mother died when he was three and Helena Enns became his second mother. In 1930 during evangelistic meetings conducted by missionary Frank Wiens, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Saviour. On August 24, 1930 he was baptized by A. Rempel in the South Saskatchewan River and accepted into the Main Centre MB Church. He graduated from the Bethany Bible Institute in Hepburn in 1939 and Prairie Bible Institute in 1945. He married Helen Peters in Greendale, B.C. on November 13, 1947. The couple farmed in Main Centre, and then in Wembley and Grande Prairie, Alta. from 1953-1972. Since 1972 they have lived in Calgary, attending the Highland MB Church. He will be missed by his wife Helen; daughter Anne and husband Nick Lenstra; son Dennis; mother Mrs. Helena Buller of Clearbrook, B.C.; brothers Frank G. of Grande Prairie and Frank H. of Clearbrook; and one grandson.
