Manitoba Youth Killed, Another Hurt in Cycle Accidents

Steinbach, Man. — Erdman Doerksen, 14, of Steinbach was killed, Sunday, May 21, when his bicycle collided with a car driven by Ronald F. Shelby of St. Boniface. Although Shelby honked his horn as he tried to pass Doerksen, the boy turned his head and swerved into the passing car.

The same day, Edwin Heinrichs, 22, received broken ribs and collar bone when the motorcycle he was riding failed to manage a curve on Highway 52.
