MRS. MARGARETHA DICK

Margaretha Dick was born October 19, 1895 in South Russia to Henry and Margaretha Reimer of Lichtfelde, Molotschna. In her youth she found Christ as her Saviour and was later baptized and joined the Mennonite Brethren Church.

She enjoyed a carefree and happy home and school life, but later revolution and bloodshed came to Russia. It was during this time of unrest that she was united in marriage to Bernhard J. Dick on April 20, 1920. The Lord wonderfully protected them in many ways and in 1924 they were led to Canada, first to Borden, Sask.

They moved to Coaldale in 1927 and resided there until her death, 48 years later. Her greatest concern and joy was to see her children walk in the ways of the Lord. Her family circle and she will be sadly missed.

She leaves to mourn her passing: husband Bernhard J. Dick; four daughters and four sons, Lydia and Henry Penner of Saskatoon, Margaret of St. Catharines, Ont., John and Hilda of Steinbach, Man., Henry and Martha of Linden, Alta., Victor and Helen of Clearbrook, B.C., Arthur and Helen of Kelowna, B.C., Agnes and Kalyan Dey of New Jersey, Erna and Henry Hubert of Vineland, Ont.; 27 grandchildren, one great-grandchild; and two sisters.

The funeral was held in the Coaldale Church on May 26. Pastor Rudy Heidebrecht based his message on John 14: 1-3. Rev. Henry Penner, a son-in-law, spoke in the German language, paying high tribute to the unfeigned and untainted faith of their mother.
