MRS. BARBARA DICK

Barbara Dick was born on March 29, 1901, in Kleefeld, southern Russia, to Abram and Agatha Neufeld. She lived with her family in the Terek settlement until they were forced away during the revolution in 1917. As a result they relocated to the Molotschna colony, making their home in Kurushan.

The family emigrated to Canada in 1924, finding temporary residence in Ontario before moving to Whitewater, Man., where they settled on a farm.

She married in 1928 to Gerhard K. Dick. They moved to Kitchener, Ont., and were baptized and received into the Mennonite Brethren church there. After several years they moved to New Hamburg, Ont., along with their two daughters. Two more children were born in New Hamburg before they moved once again, to Virgil, Ont., where they remained until her passing. During the last ten years she and her husband spent the winter months in Fort Pierce, Florida.

She enjoyed religious broadcasts, and fellowship with God's people. She especially appreciated the ladies fellowship group in the Virgil Mennonite Brethren Church.

She suffered a stroke in 1974, from which she partially recovered. A)1other series of strokes in May placed her in the hospital, where she passed away on June 26.
