MARIE C. DICK

My dear wife and our loving mother, Marie C. Dick, was born on Feb. 22, 1889, in Dale Township west of Delft, Minn. She was the daughter of Claus and Kathrine Dick. In her youth she attended the country school west of Delft.

In 1900 the family moved to North Dakota. Ten years later they returned and settled in Mountain Lake, Minn.

Upon her confession of faith in Christ she was baptized by Rev. David P. Eitzen in 1911 and became a member of the Bergfelder Mennonite Church (now the Gospel Mennonite Church). In 1913 she joined the First Mennonite Church of Mt. Lake, where she remained a faithful member until her death.

On Sept. 11, 1913 she was united in marriage with Henry W. Dick. This happy union was blessed with two sons.

Since 1943 mother had suffered as a diabetic. In more recent years she often had great pain from a neuralgic condition. Still her faith remained strong. She was exceptionally affectionate toward her grandchildren and never permitted her pain to interfere with her enjoyment of them.

Though medical help was sought, her condition did not improve. On June 10 she was again admitted to the hospital. She expressed her readiness to part from this life and a week later, on June 17, she quietly slipped away to be in the presence of her Savior. She lived to be 73 years, three months, and 26 days.

Preceding her death were her parents, two brothers, Frank and Claus, and one grandchild.

She leaves to mourn her husband, Henry W. Dick; two sons and two daughters-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Dick of St.Peter and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Dick of Mountain Lake; five grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Nick F. Loewen of Mt. Lake and Miss Margaret Dick of Dallas, Oregon; and a host of relatives and friends.

Interment was made in the Mountain Lake cemetery on June 20 following services in the First Mennonite Church, with Rev. Willard Wiebe, Rev. I. J. Dick, and Rev. J. J. Esau officiating. — Henry W. Dick and Family.
