FRANK J. DICK

Our father, Frank J. Dick, was born on February 7, 1867, in South Russia, and came to the United States with his parents in 1878, settling at Henderson, Nebraska. Here he grew to manhood.

He made farming and carpenter work his daily vocation throughout life. His education was very limited, but through much reading and studying he gained a good general knowledge. He always took an active interest in the work of the church, organizing one of the first choirs in the community and also a number of Sunday schools. He was active in both for a number of years.

He accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as personal Saviour, was baptized on May 21, 1888, by Elder Peter J. Friesen and accepted into the Bethesda church of which he was a member to the end.

He was united in marriage to Anna Janzen on August 27, 1893, and they were privileged to share almost 60 years of married life. To this union were born four children two sons and two daughters. They made their home at different places — Butterfield, Minn., Munich, N. Dakota, Litchfield and O’Neill, Nebr., and for the last 33 years in Henderson again.

Father enjoyed good health until this year. He had the flu in February and could not regain his health again. He spent 10 days in the hospital with kidney and colon trouble, then returned home feeling somewhat better, but soon complications set in and after being home 18 days he went to be with the Lord. He attained the age of 86 years and five months.

He leaves to mourn his death his wife; four children, Anna, Mrs. Geo. Klippenstein of Henderson, Frank A. of Hampton, Nebr. John F. of O'Neill, Nebr., Marie, Mrs. C. C. Kliewer of Henderson; two daughters-in-law, two sons-in-law, 11 grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Helena Isaac of Fairbury, Nebr. and Mrs. Sarah Huebert of Lustre, Montana, one brother, George Dick of Rosthern, Sask., seven sisters-in-law, five brothers-in-law, many relatives and friends.

He was a kind and loving father, always concerned for the welfare of his family. He had a quiet disposition, never complaining. We shall miss him greatly, but will meet him again in the Sweet By and By. — Mrs. Frank J. Dick and family.
