Mt. Lake, Minn., May 2. — Abraham J. Dick, a resident of the community since 1876, passed away last Wednesday afternoon after an illness which dates back to March 25th, when he was taken with an attack of flu. Funeral services were held from the Bergfelder church Sunday afternoon in the presence of a large crowd which overfilled the church.

The deceased was born in Marienthal, South Russia, on August 17, 1858. He came to this country with his parents and three brothers in 1878, and the family settled on a farm near Mountain Lake. In 1879 he was baptized and taken into the church. He was married to maria Lohrens in 1886, and six children, one son and five daughters, were born to the union. Four children, however, died in infancy.

For sixteen years they resided on a farm six miles southeast of Mountain Lake, but in 1902 they moved to Mountain Lake because of his ill health, caused by nerve paralysis. His condition grew more serious as time went on, and for the past ten years he has been practically helpless.

On March 25th, he was taken with a flu attack, from which he never recovered. His last fifty days of life were especially painful. During the entire period of his illness, he was cared for by his faithful wife.

The deceased reached the age of 71 years, eight months and 27 days. He leaves to mourn his death, his widow, two daughters and 2 sons-in-law, ten grandchildren, one brother and one sister-in-law, as well as a large circle of friends and other relatives. — Observer.
