Mrs. Mary (Gross) Detweiler, 75, of 28 Fairview Ave., Sellersville, Pa., died Monday, Jan. 18, in the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mrs. and Mrs. Paul G. Detweiler, Raudenbush Rd., Quakertown, where she and her husband were spending the night.

Born in Bedminster township, she was a daughter of the late William and Hannah (Overstreet) Gross.

Mr. and Mrs. Detweiler were steward and matron of the Franconia Mennonite Home, Hatfield, during 1945-46. They were also custodians at Christopher Dock High School near Lansdale, Pa. from 1952-1957.

Mrs. Detweiler pioneered summer Bible School in her home on Cherry Lane, Souderton, beginning in the early 1930s and continued that work for many years. She was also active in other church and Sunday school work. She was a member of Methacton Mennonite Church, Worcester, Pa.

In addition to her husband, Edward W., she is survived by these children,; Paul G. of rural Quakertown, Willis G. of Telford, Harvey G. of Blountstown, Fla., Edna G. and Marie G., both at home; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are two brothers and four sisters: Mrs. Clarence Hendricks, Telford; Mrs. Walter Rush, Plumsteadville; Clayton Gross, Silverdale; Mrs. Wallace Derstein, rural Lansdale; Henry O. Gross, Sellersville, and Mrs. Ruth Moyer, Dublin.

Funeral services were held Jan. 23 at the Souderton Mennonite Church. Burial was made at Methacton Church, Worcester.

MRS. EDWARD W. DETWEILER
