PIONEER RANCHER DIES AT UPLAND

Upland, Calif. — Daniel S. Dettweiler, who was among the first Mennonite settlers to come to the Upland vicinity, died recently at the age of 82.

Mr. Dettweiler came here from Kansas in 1904, and was one of the pioneer citrus ranchers of Upland. the family helped organize the first Mennonite fellowship here.

Survivors include his widow, Marie, who is in an Upland nursing home; one daughter; a brother Dan of Phoenix, Ariz.; and a sister Amelia of Upland.
