Tobias P. Deckert, son of Peter and Susie (Unruh) Deckert, was born in Russia on Dec. 24, 1873 and passed away on Aug. 20, 1962 in the Fairview, Okla. Hospital. He reached the age of 88 years, seven months and 25 days. As a baby he came with his parents to the United States. They settled near Marion, S. D.

He early accepted Jesus Christ as his Saviour and was baptized, thereby becoming a member of the Bethesda Mennonite Church near Marion, S. D. He remained a member there until his departure.

He enjoyed reading the Bible and singing songs, and did not neglect these activities even during his sickness. He suffered much the last few months and often expressed his desire to be with the Lord.

He was married to Mrs. Agnes (Schartner) Koehn on Jan. 9, 1949. They made their home near Marion at first, and lived for a few years in Enid, Okla. They came to make their home in Meno, Okla. in 1956. On July 20, 1962 they entered the Fellowship Home in Fairview, Okla.

He leaves to mourn his wife Agnes; two step-sons, Lowell Koehn of Meno and Reuben Koehn of Enid; two step-daughters, Mrs. Dan (Anna) Janzen of Okeene and Mrs. Fred (Selma) McBroom of Stillwell; three brothers, Fred and Henry of Richey, Mont. and Jacob of Wetaskiwin, Alberta.

Preceding him in death were his parents; seven brothers, Ben, John, Ludwig, John, Abe, Peter and David; and two sisters, Eva and Lennie.

TOBIAS P. DECKERT

Tobias P. Deckert, son of Peter and Susie (Unruh) Deckert, was born in Russia on Dec. 24, 1873 and passed away on Aug. 20, 1962 in the Fairview, Okla. Hospital.
