Young Western Kansas Farmer Killed When Pipe Hits Power Line

Modoc, Kan. — Dayton Decker, 27, of rural Modoc, 18 miles northwest of Scott City, was pronounced dead at the scene by the district coroner after being electrocuted in a farm accident on Feb. 4. Mouth-to-mouth resuscitation applied by his brother Larry had failed to revive him.

A native of Marion County, Mr. Decker moved to Scott County in 1967. Survivors include his widow. Virginia, and a son Leslie Gail of the home, and the parents, Mr. and Mrs. David Decker of Scott City.
