MRS. LIZZIE DECKER

Mrs. Lizzie Decker, daughter of Jacob and Marie Johnson, was born at Eldorado, Kansas on January 25, 1894, departed this life August 13, 1950, at 5:30 a. m. She reached the age of 56 years, six months and 19 days.

In 1895 her parents moved to Oklahoma, and settled on a farm north of Ringwood, where she grew up. She was baptized on her confession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ in May of 1911 by Rev. Johann Ratzlaff and became a member of the New Hopedale Mennonite church, where she remained a faithful member until death.

On August 25, 1918, she was united in marriage to Milton Decker, and they moved on a farm northeast of Meno, living there for 32 years. To this union were born three children, one daughter and two sons.

A little over a year ago she became very ill and was taken to the Gau Clinic. She submitted to an operation, and her sickness proved to be internal cancer. She realized that her time was short, but did not complain. She bore it patiently, saying “I am ready to go.”

By her departure she leaves to mourn her husband, of the home, one daughter, Mrs. Bryson Koehn of Kansas City, Mo., two sons, Cephas and Kenneth of Meno, Oklahoma, two grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Sam Smith of Ringwood, Oklahoma, and Mrs. Arthur Decker of Meno, Oklahoma, four brothers, Dan of Douglas, Kansas, John of Ringwood, Oklahoma, Dave of Southwest City, Mo., Frank of Cleo Springs, Oklahoma, and other relatives and friends.
