ISAAC B. DECKER

Isaac B. Decker, son of Benjamin and Mary Decker, was born Jan. 5, 1898, at Durham, Kan. and passed away Nov. 17, 1960, in the Bethel hospital, Newton, Kan., having reached the age of 62 years, ten months and 12 days.

At the age of 19 years he was converted, repented of his sins and found peace with God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Upon confession of his faith, he was baptized and added to the Church of God in Christ Mennonite on Dec. 25, 1917, at Chickasha, Okla.

On March 28, 1920, he was united in marriage to Susie Dirks of Halstead, Kan. To this Union were born four sons and six daughters. They were privileged to share joys and sorrows for 40 years.

In 1921 they moved from Chickasha, Okla. to Halstead, Kan., where they rented a farm. A few years later they bought a farm southwest of Halstead, which was their home at the time of his death.

Of late his health was not good and he was found to have complications around the heart. When he was taken to the hospital he made the remark that he would not return to his home again. Very unexpectedly on Nov. 17 he peacefully closed his eyes in death.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife Susie, four sons, Irvin and wife Pauline of Sedgwick, Paul and wife Erma of Hutchinson, Wallace and wife Erma of Sedgwick, Arnold and wife Janis of Ithaca, Mich.; five daughters, Naomi and husband Leo Unruh of Halstead, Evelyn and husband Marion Jantz of Horton, Mo., Edna and husband Floyd Unruh of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, La Deen [sic LaDean] and husband Martin Becker of Galva, Virginia and husband Paul Unruh of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; 20 grandchildren, two brothers, three sisters, and a host of relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were one daughter, Ruthie, who died in infancy, his parents, two brothers and four sisters. — The Family.
