JOHN DEJAGER

John DeJager of Calgary passed away May 30. He was born to John and Suzanna (Regier) DeJager on September 22, 1897 in Djurman, Crimea, Russia. He married Marie Sperling on March 27,1923 . They emigrated to Canada in 1929, arriving in southern Manitoba where they farmed at Roseisle. In 1939 John accepted the Lord and was baptized into the Morden (Man.) Mennonite Brethren Church in 1947. In 1965 John and Marie retired and moved to Calgary where they joined the Highland MB Church. He was predeceased by three sons, Henry, Herman and William during their exodus from Russia and leaves wife Marie; sons and spouses: John and Irene of Calgary and Abe and Joy of Vancouver; daughters and spouses: Nellie and Bill McKay of Ottawa, Frieda and Joseph Duhamel of Burnaby, B.C., Mary Anne Wilson of Calgary and Irma and Jack Borthwick of Lethbridge, Alta.; 13 grandchildren and one great grandson.
