Funeral services for Mathilda Dalke, 97, of Cordell, were held Feb. 8 in the Herold Mennonite Church southeast of Bessie with John Sprunger officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mrs. Dalke was born Aug. 18, 1887, in Kansas to Emil and Elizabeth King, and died Feb. 5, 1985, in the Cordell Christian Home. At the age of five she came to Oklahoma with her parents who located on a farm northwest of Corn. She was married to C.H. Dalke, Sr., who preceded her in death in 1948. After her marriage she lived in Bessie before moving to a farm near Cordell. For the past seven years she had lived in the Cordell Christian Home. She was a member of the Herold Mennonite Church.

Survivors include four sons, August and C.H., Jr., of Cordell and Herman and Alfred of Clinton; three daughters, Hilda Horn of Cordell, Martha (Mrs. Arnold) Baergen of Bakersfield, Calif., and Elsie (Mrs. Bentley) Chester of Clinton; one half-brother, Dan Hinz of Enid; 18 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. — Rachel Schmidt.
