Mary Elizabeth Parmele, daughter of Cashus and Mary Ann Parmele was born in Macinaw, Ill., on Sept. 29, 1852. She lived to be seventy-six years old and died on Jan. 10, 1929, on the farm that had been her home for a period of over fifty years.

She attended school and Macinaw and finished her education in Eureka college. While attending college she met and later married George T. Crobarger and to this union eight children were born. They are: Mrs. Hannah Lee Hackney of Newton, Mrs. Hallie Haun of Sedgwick; Ben of Sacramento, Calif., George G., who is deceased, Ruby May also deceased, Robert and John at home and Mrs. Ruth Ashworth of Newton.

Mrs. Crobarger with her husband and first born child came to Harvey county in the year of 1873 and located on the farm which was her home for more than half a century.

The funeral services were held at the Carter Funeral home on Saturday afternoon, Jan. 12, 1929, the Rev. Harold Dickins, pastor of the First Christian church presiding and preaching a beautiful sermon emphasizing the fragrance and afterglow of a good Christian's life.

A male quartet composed of Walter Brown, Carl Kennedy, C. M. Chitty and M. R. Stauffer sang "One Sweetly Solemn Thought" and "Remember Me, Oh Mighty One", with Newton Boggess as accompanist.

The following old friends and neighborns acted as pall bearers: Sydney Thomas, Ray Fife, Joshue Briggs, Arthur Taylor, Will Patton and Roy Kessler.

She was laid to rest among a beautiful profusion of flowers beside her husband who passed away twenty-nine years ago.

The following relatives from out of town attended the services: Howard Ady of Dallas, Texas; Mr. and Mrs. Howard Carey of Hutchinson and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Butts and Henrietta Lantis of Kingman.
